This year's Forest Row Festival is set to be the biggest yet, with
music of all types, art exhibitions, films, story readings and much
more on this year's programme.
From Wednesday October 1st through to Sunday October 5th, there will be
music for all tastes, including the eccentric bluegrass of "The
Spiders" and the dance-able funkiness of "Funkee Junkee". The revolving
cast of the Jam Band are promising to pop up somewhere unexpected
while classical music lovers will have plenty to chose from with the
East Grinstead chamber orchestra and individual cello performing while
the Forest Row orchestra are inviting anyone to join them in an open
rehearsal at 9am on Saturday - just bring your violin, clarinet or
whatever and turn up.
Dramatic interest will be provided with the Forest Row Film Society
screening Uncle Vanya on Friday evening, short story readings in
unusual locations, puppet shows for children and possibly a surprise
play. Around
the village in shops and houses will be works by local artists.
Saturday will also see the annual bike ride around the village with the
prize-giving on Forester's Green in the afternoon. The final programme
is still being agreed. Details of individual events are here in the events lishings.
Note: all outside events may change if the weather is bad!
