APPEALS, MESSAGES AND NEWS
Good News
Anti Social Behaviour Order was granted
On Thursday, February 14th 2008, Tamsin Smith, (pictured above), 24 years, Hailsham
appeared before Eastbourne Magistrates and was issued with a full Antisocial
Behaviour Order (ASBO).
The
ASBO remains in force for two years, and prevents Miss. Smith from being drunk
in any public place in East Sussex, or from consuming any alcohol
in any Public Place in East Sussex. The Order further prevents Miss Smith from
being in possession of any open container of alcohol in a Public Place.
She
is further prevented from using threatening, abusive, or insulting words or
behaviour outside the majority of food shops in Hailsham Town Centre.
The
issuing of the ASBO followed numerous complaints from members of the public about
this person.
Quote
from South Wealden Inspector Claire Stephenson, "This person has caused
considerable disruption to the people of Hailsham with her activities whilst
under the influence of alcohol, and I hope that the issuing of this ASBO will
remind Tamsin that she is expected to behave in a manner which is acceptable to
others. South Wealden police will continue to monitor the
situation, and any alleged breaches of her ASBO will be dealt with
robustly."

Bogus antique dealers cold calling - from West Downs
District
Although
this message has come from the West Downs District there was a report recently
across our area with very similar circumstances. Please take note and heed the
advice.
There
have been a number of burglaries recently, particularly where antiques have
been stolen. In some cases an antique dealer has called prior to the burglary
occurring and the dealer has showed interest in the contents of the house.
Should you or someone you know, have or indeed already received a visit from
such a person, please call Sussex Police on 0845 6070999 and report this
immediately and state that your information is linked to serial 732 of 18/02/08
