What do you think? Where should they go?
Come and find out how to make your views known to Wealden District Council!
Your District Council is drafting an important planning document called a Local Development Framework Core Strategy which will determine what development takes place in Wealden between now and 2026. Your opinion is sought on such important issues as:
- What areas should be released for housing or commercial development?
- What size and density of housing do we need?
- Should the boundaries of Wealden population centres be extended?
- Can our existing infrastructure and community facilities cope with further residential expansion?
- Should we encourage renewable energy development such as wind power and biomass in Wealden?
- Should we insist on higher standards of energy efficiency for new homes?
This is probably one of the most important documents that we are likely to be consulted on for many years. It will be setting the framework for development in our area for the next 20 years. For example, do you think there is scope for the village to grow over this period, by taking additional housing? Perhaps you do or perhaps you don’t, but unless you voice your views, they won’t count.
Please make your voice heard and by responding to this consultation. We have copies of the Report in the Parish Council Office and can also lend out a CD Rom. Alternatively you could look it up on the Wealden District Council website www.wealden.gov.uk

I think the infrastructure cannot handle many extra houses. Also car traffic in and out of FR will become an enormous problem, especially if the EG bye-pass goes ahead. FR will then certainly need its own bye-pass. |
