Life Line Screening will perform four different health screenings using Doppler color flow ultrasound:
- Carotid Artery/Stroke Screening that visualises fatty plaque build-up and measures the velocity of blood flow to the brain. Carotid artery disease is the most common cause of stroke. Stroke is the UK’s third leading killer. We asses your risk of stroke to enable you to discuss treatment options with your GP.
- Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening that detects an enlargement or weak area in the main blood vessel that carries blood from the heart to the rest of the body. The majority of people with AAAs have no symptoms, but the mortality rate of a ruptured AAA is over 80%.
- Peripheral Arterial Disease Screening which checks for plaque build-up in the arteries of your arms and legs. Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) is closely linked to coronary artery disease and by identifying individuals with PAD; treatment options can be discussed with your GP to help reduce the risk of heart attack.
- Osteoporosis Screening that will check your bone density to asses your risk for osteoporosis, which causes 200,000 fractures a year in the UK. Osteoporosis is painless and silent in its early stages, so screening is invaluable.
- Vascular screening package – tests 1,2 and 3 – just £119
- Add osteoporosis screening for just £10
